“A great day filled with local vendors selling handmade items, food vendors, performances, traditional festivities, and so much more. This year we’re at a new venue because of the festival’s popularity and growth. This is our annual fundraiser and we are looking forward to welcoming EVERYONE to learn about an important celebration in Japanese culture. *Vendors will have both asian and non-asian goods and food”

Did you know that Lopez Lake, near Arroyo Grande, offers great events all year round? The lake isn’t just for fishing and camping, it is also for discovering the uniqueness of SLO nature. The Park Rangers are more than happy to show you everything that the Lopez Lake Preserve has to offer. This Saturday isn’t any different and there are 2 cool events for the whole family. We try to make our Enjoy a SLO Weekend feature a showcase for FREE events in the area but sometimes a small fee is worth it. So, if you want to escape the “city” head to Lopez Lake for a morning, evening, or all day nature feast.

Pismo Beach will be all revved up this weekend with shining beauties. Come out for all of the festivities, see some amazing rides, watch them cruise old-school style, and spend the day at the beach. The Classic at Pismo Beach Car Show celebrates it’s 28th season this weekend and invites all of us to spend the weekend with them. Come early, the streets are blocked off in multiple places and this beach hamlet will be buzzing and leaving a lack of parking spaces for the masses.
Check out the schedule for the weekend…
Not sure you want to go to the car show? Head over to Cal Poly for their graduation or check out a free outdoor concert! Whatever you choose, get outside because it is beautiful.

We love attending concerts in the park and when we moved here I started asking around about events in our new home. So, I thought I would share this information with all of you newbies and locals alike. I hope to run into you at the concerts. Please let us know if you have a concert series you’d like to list!
